Lasting Development Projects of Vietnam Aventure and la ferme du Colvert

To keep taking part to the construction and to consolidate the Dap Dom lake’s walls – the natural reservoir, sheltering hundreds of hectares, securing Cu Yen town survival, by irrigating the rice fields. So we can develop, independently, the water leisures, this fishes and ducks breeding, for the future products of the land, which strongly matter to us :  foie gras (duck liver, a holidays dish). A French acknowledge that la ferme du Colvert wishes to pass on the Muong villagers. And what about another specialty of the area , the smoked Ca Qua fish to replace the salmon? So did the smoked fish of Mopti, in Mali.

  • The Dap Dom lake is a natural reservoir covering hundreds hectares of ponds, lakes, and forests, which are significant to the inhabitants survival, as the Cu Yen villagers need to irrigate their rice fields. However, the water leisures consisting in the fishes and ducks breeding, for a future produce of the land that strongly matters to us: French foie gras (duck liver, a Christmas dish), an ancestral French acknowledge that la ferme du Colvert will pass on the Muong villagers. And what about another local specialty, for example the smoked Ca Qua fish to replace the salmon?
  • To keep planning, within the framework of DURAD humanitarian project, in en cooperation with the French organism CIRAD and the Vietnamese agriculture institution, planting oat, on the hills, of dozens hectares, these grounds are seriously threatened of eroding risks, after the massive Keo harvest, or the local Eucalyptuses of the villagers.
  • To keep restoring and put in use our Vietnamese traditional houses – Muong style and other ethnic groups from the North part. It has already been done for 8 of our 10 houses at la ferme.
  • Our goal is to save our beautiful country from the future sorrow resulting from the wrong side of modernity : to be invaded by the merciless urbanisation to become one of the Hanoi common suburbia districts, the overfull and polluted capital.
  • To keep sponsoring the football team of Cu Yen and its young players, by buying the football field of the village facing to a potential exasperating property campain, which could erase this little piece of heaven. This purchase, not planned at the beginning and of important value, will have one only goal : to protect the place where are reunited all the villagers, for a friendly match or during the traditional holidays of the year.
  • To keep proposing to visitors the meaningful natural and cultural patrimony of Vietnam, and a deepened acknowledge of the faun and flora of the region. A tropical botanic garden, covering dozens of hectares of numerous tropical plants, is being worked on at la ferme du Colvert. Green classes with reduced cost are offered to everyone, including the « Environment Protection » license given at the end of the stay.

In order to propose to our visitors a meaning of the Vietnamese natural and cultural patrimony and a deepened acknowledge about the region faun and flora, a tropical garden, named Arec (Vuon Cau in Vietnamese), covering dozens hectares of very diversified vegetables species, is being worked on at la ferme du Colvert. The Green Classes with reduced costs will be available for everyone, including an Environment Protection License given at the end of the journey. So we can all realize the danger announced that could highly damage our ecosystem if the Nature and Environment keep being disrespected.

  • To keep, thanks to tourism, running la ferme and all its activities, which allow villagers to find better jobs. At this moment, we have 40 employees, and this number could grow to a hundred. Not only, our participants have access to professional and linguistic (French and English) training, but also to sensitization classes, reinforced by the ecotourism development, favoring an evolution of attitudes and behavior toward nature.
To keep alive the traditions and cultural events of the ethnic groups, the handcraft regional professions, to help financially and to set development projects, as improving the agriculture technology, so they can have access to their needs. For example : irrigating the Dap Dom lake, through the money from the tourism activity. In that case, it is possible to talk about real lasting development in this rural area.
