11. Road to Ha Long. 190km. By motorbike, explore this mountainous region, which bordes the edge of the Ky Cung River, the last before the sea....elevated market of colourful locals around Tien Yen. We meet the Red D’zao ladies, with their traditional headdresses and cassava root sellers. Ha Long Bay at the end of the day. Hotel.

12. Ha Long - Cruise. Morning boarding. Cruise between Tu Long Bay and Ha Long Bay to the Hon Gai Port. Enchanting scenery of boulders in the depths of a turquoise sea. Little island walks. Seafood meals and night onboard.

13. Cruise - Ha Noi. Wake up to a magnificant sunrise on the bay, amongst a thousand islands....then a boat ride in open sea. Possibility of a swim....Disembark. Return to Hanoi by motorbike. 160km. Hotel in the heart of the Old quarter.

14. Hanoi. Guided day visit around the city. Hanoi, the beautiful city which has inspired many a great poem. Return evening flight back to Paris.

Practicalities:

Treks without transport - intermediate level of 4-6 hr motorbike/per day. On, sometimes difficult, mountaineous tracks or back roads. Mountain passes rising to an altitude of some 751km (incline averaging at 6.3%, even 9-10%). From May – September in the monsoon season, therefore must becareful of the heat and exhaustion. Advice: trip for experienced motorcyclists. Training and practical motorcycle skills required. Need to have a good physical condition and without any particular health problems.
