Therapeutic massage training stay schedule and Spa care.

Day 01 : Hoa Binh - North Vietnam

Transfer from Hanoi to the Nature Spa at La ferme du Colvert in the region of Luong Son. Unpack and settle in for 6 nights. Afterwards, if you wish, you can relax by the swimming pool or perhaps take a little discovery stroll around the area. First look at one of our well-being treatments, the perfumed hamman, where we celebrate Tet - the Vietnamese New Year and the arrival of Spring each year.... with Bamboo leaves, Lemongrass, Grapefruit, Bo Ket and Coriander grains (Tre, Buoi, Sa, Mui, Huong Nhu, Cuc Tan…), this traditional ritual will ensure a great night’s sleep!

Group supper of noodles, fresh vegetables and fruit. The Health centre cooking offers a range of varied regional dishes which are sure to please any palate. A friendly atmosphere is assured, ideal to get to know the other members of your training group.

Day 02 : Ferme du Colvert

Healthy lunch followed by a meditation session to destress the mind and body. Today, after a brief overview of therapist ethics, we’ll start with some base movements. We will go over the many different therapeutic massage and ancestral relaxation techniques and have a look at the impact that a good posture has on the masseur; the importance of breathing correctly, the symbiotic connection of the masseur-massaged and the importance of respecting the tolerance threshold of the massaged individual - as well as the difference a more gentle massage and a more stronger massage can have on the massaged individual. Then, after the training, we’ll relax around the pool and chat about the day over a fresh fruit cocktail.. After a seafood supper, relax to the sound of traditional Vietnamese music.

Day 03 : Ferme du Colvert

Healthy lunch followed by a yoga session before the beginning of the training. Today we’ll be learning how to work with the body’s energy, deep massage with supported pressure. Learn to release fatigue and nervous tension and relax the muscles. Oriental philosophical approach and the subtle differences between different types of massage. After our training, we’ll take a walk to the village where we’ll be able to visit friendly artisan workshops. After a supper of typical regional dishes, there’ll be a dance and musical performance by individuals from the local Muong ethnic group.

Day 04 : Ferme du Colvert

Healthy lunch followed by a Tai-chi session. Today, we’ll go for a motorbike ride (or by minibus), to discover the beautiful scenery of the surrounding countryside, with it’s hills and ricefields, rivers.... karstic shaped mountains and colourful villages, delighting the senses. We’ll finish our ride with a swim in the Kim Boi thermal springs. On our return, you’ll be given a Vietnamese-style massage by one of our hostesses. Then to our perfumed hamman, with leaves from the garden. After a supper, where you’ll savour exotic spices, there will be a poetry reading from the French-speaking community with a small wine tasting....

Day 05 : Ferme du Colvert

Healthy lunch followed by a muscle warming session (originally given by the most senior member of the village before the beginning of activities). Today, we’ll be exploring the beauty treatments offered by the Muong ladies. Exfoliation, wraps, facial massages and hair treatments, all with natural ingredients, grown here at La ferme du Colvert: papaya, lemongrass, green tea and ginger etc.. After a supper, where you’ll be doing the cooking under the supervision of our Breton chef, Freddy Mellin – you’ll have the time to take advantage of La ferme, find a little corner and relax a bit midst nature....until night falls and the stars arrive...

Day 06 : Ferme du Colvert

Today, during the morning, we’ll go over different themes which we have looked at during the week. Then a healthy lunch followed by a brief discussion of any points you’d like clarifying.  The afternoon will be spent as you wish, chatting to your fellow group members, relaxing near the Dap Dom Lake etc....Before a hearty goodbye supper of gourmet delights, where variety and freshness will go hand in hand, you will have a steam bath of flower petals and different plants. Colourful evening folktale performance.

Day 07 : Ferme du Colvert

Free morning until the transfer to Hanoi or the airport. Contingent on time, two beauty treatment sessions will be offered: hair, face or manicure, Vietnamese-style with Bo Ket and it’s leaves from the garden. Tropical fruit face mask (passionflower). Local infusion of Sa or Che (Lemongrass or Green Tea) and a house snack.

Extension on Halong Bay in one of our traditional junkboats.
(by request and at an extra charge).

Practicalities:

  • 2 -3 treatments/training sessions of 60mins / session / day (Massage - Well-being hair and face treatments / full body / perfumed hammam - sauna - swimming pool - jacuzzi - meditation sessions, relaxation, ethics....). Depending on program.
  • Specialist Trainers from Quebec - anglo/francophone (fixed schedule). Vietnamese - Muong technicians.
  • Full-board.
  • Accommodation in a traditional stilt house, bordering the lake.
  • Free access to the recreation area: swimming pool, Children’s corner with games..swing, bicycle rides, walking, fishing, swimming, sampan....weaving and cookery courses....
  • Transfer (car, boat or motorbike, bicycle….) for scheduled excursions. La ferme Vietnamese/Muong-speaking guides.
  • Welcome + Hanoi transfer / Hanoi.
  • From 6 per. upwards.
